New pastures and revised Programme Management structures
After four and a half years at Renewable World, Nick Virr, our Global Programme Manager, will leave us for new pastures at the end of September. We will be taking the opportunity provided to us by his departure to review our global programme management structure with a view to identifying efficiencies and investing in our operating regions.
I and the rest of the RW team are deeply grateful for the contribution Nick has made during his time with Renewable World and for his development of our systems and establishing our global programme teams in East Africa and South East Asia. Over the last few years, thanks to Nick’s efforts and those of the wider global programme team, we have enjoyed unprecedented growth in project inceptions and created major social improvements for marginalised communities.
We are now in the fortunate position of being able to take some time over the next few months to capitalise on the energy Nick has developed within the global programme team by strengthening our in-country team in Nepal, Kenya, Nicaragua and Bangladesh. We thank Nick for positioning us to meet our goal of lifting 100,000 people out of poverty by 2020.
I and the rest of the team wish Nick well for the future and value Nick’s continued friendship and support.
