Leave a lasting legacy

Gifts in wills can transform lives for generations. Each gift will bring off-grid renewable energy solutions to the most remote and underserved communities, empowering them to achieve sustainable and resilient lives.

The impact of access to clean and reliable energy is life-changing. It can help end extreme poverty and reduce climate change, and should be readily accessible to all. Gifts in wills can help make this a reality.

If you don’t currently have a will…

If you haven’t already made a will, you can make one and leave a gift of a specific amount of money or a proportion of your estate to us. Once your family and friends are catered for, anything you can provide us will make a huge difference to our work. Did you know that there’s an inheritance tax incentive for people who leave up to 10% of their estate to charity?

If your estate is liable for inheritance tax (see here), we suggest you speak to your solicitor to discuss making a will and leaving a gift to us. If you don’t have a solicitor, you can go to http://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk to find one near you.

If you have complicated needs in your will – for example: dependent relatives/ friends, property overseas, trust income or ongoing legal issues – we suggest you speak to a solicitor.

Make a free online will…

With makeawillonline.co.uk, we offer a free online wills service.

All wills are checked by a qualified solicitor and details of your legacy will be shared with us: your name, your contact details, the amount of the legacy and the date you made the will.

You can also let us know directly if you have left a gift to Renewable World in your will, by contacting getintouch@renewable-world.org. This will allow us to thank you and keep you updated on how your gift will be shaping our programmes.

Alternatively if you prefer not to share your information with us, you can pay for the will directly yourself.

If you already have a will…

If you already have a will and want to leave a gift to us, contact your solicitor and let them know your intentions. You can work with them to either make a new will or make a shorter and less expensive “codicil”.

Please ensure that your solicitor uses our full details: “Renewable World”, our charity number: 1119467, and our registered address: 1st & 2nd Floor Offices, 161 Edward Street, Brighton, BN2 0JB.
