Get your triathlon kit right!

July 25, 2011

With the London triathlon now only 2 weeks away, most of your training should be done and you should be making plans for the big day. Personally I’m looking forward to competing on closed roads around our capital city.

The event packs with numbers have been sent out and the wave start times are now on the London Triathlon website. In your pack you will have numbers that attach to your seat stem, a number for the front of your helmet, and a number for the front of your swim cap (I hope that this one stays on in the water), your number which you will need to attach to your race top or race belt, and a wrist band which you will need to get access to the transition area and reclaim your bike afterwards.

The race instructions tell you all that you need to do on the day, including how long you need to be there before your start time to get your timing chip and rack your bike.

Here’s a check list of what will you need on the day:

SWIM BIKE RUN OTHER
Wet suit (compulsory) Cycle helmet Running shoes Talcum powder (to help get your shoes on)
Swim cap Cycle shoes Towel for you transition area (if allowed)
Goggles Drink bottle Race belt
Sunglasses

I’m looking forward to meeting you all on the day and hope that you all enjoy the experience.
