UK Fundraising Update - Summer 2014

October 24, 2014

We’ve had a fantastic summer, a big thank you to all our fundraisers!

Dwight School London

We were on cloud nine when pupils at the Dwight School London voted to make us their charity of the year for 2013. Selling handmade goods, manning healthy food stalls after school and running seasonal festivals were just a few of the innovative fundraising activities that helped the school to raise £1,624 for Renewable World last year. We want to give a special thanks to Head teacher Matt Parkin who ran a marathon for sponsorship and helped to co-ordinate many of the fundraising events.

Helen Russell our development officer said: “It is fantastic to see so many young people getting involved with Renewable World. Parents, pupils and staff have all been fantastically supportive, giving up their free time to help fundraise for us. We couldn’t be more thankful.”

OST Energy

OST Energy, our friends from just down the road, have been giving us lots of fundraising support. A team of five took on the 10km race Run to the Beat in London  for us last month and now seven of their amazing staff are taking on theTough Mudder assault course for us this month. The generous support from companies like OST Energy is what allows us to continue our work with energy poor communities in the developing world. Support the team here.

InterGen

Our final thanks go to the spectacular cycling team from InterGen who contacted us to announce they were cycling 800km from The Netherlands to Edinburgh to raise money for Renewable World. What a fantastic job they did raising the superb sum of £5,284. We are so grateful to them for pedalling so far to raise this amount. You can contribute to their fundraising page here.
