Anupama Mahat is a dedicated development professional with over 18 years of experiences prominently in the natural resource management sector. She holds master’s degree in public policy specialising in Policy Analysis from the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University with Australia Awards Scholarship and another master’s degree in Human and Natural Resources Studies from the Kathmandu University, Nepal. Professionally, she has extensive experience in climate change, agriculture, forestry, water, poverty, livelihoods, housing, financial literacy, skills and employment, community development, public policy, gender and social inclusion, and sustainable development and has excelled in program development, management, monitoring and evaluation and gender mainstreaming roles. Until March 2021 she managed a South Asia Regional Project on Capacity Building for Agricultural and Water Pollution, Caritas Switzerland. Following the project closure, Anupama taught several courses in the Masters of Public Policy Program of the Kathmandu University where she helped students connect theory, practice, research, planning and policy making. Also, as a freelance researcher, she conducted baseline surveys, endline surveys and impact evaluations of projects promoting gender equality and social inclusion. She passionately engages to foster development practices, research, and policy interaction to address social, economic and environmental issues. Anupama has extensive network in the government, non-government, media, research and academic sectors.
