Thakur Thapa

Thakur joined Renewable World in August 2021 with over 15 years experience in project development and implementation. He has specific experience and knowledge in clean energy, food security and livelihood and their interrelationships. Other areas where he has been extensively engaged in are WASH, DRR, climate change adaptations, and increasing access to basic services such as health and education through improvement of basic public infrastructures and their governance mechanism. He previously worked for both national and international organizations including HELVETAS, Caritas Switzerland, Rural Reconstruction Nepal for the projects funded by DFID (now UK Aid), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Swiss Solidarity, and European Union. Thakur has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and Master of Integrated Water Management from the University of Queensland, Australia. He was awarded the Dean’s commendation for academic excellence for his master’s degree. He has sound theoretical knowledge and extensive practical experience in managing projects at different levels for national and international organizations in Nepal. In his spare time, he enjoys socializing, watching tennis and playing futsal and table tennis.
