We are delighted to announce that Renewable World has been selected for a BBC Radio 4 Appeal this April. Our Appeal will air on Sunday 24 April at 7:55am and 9:26pm, and will be repeated on Thursday 28 April at 3:27pm.
Former Parachute Regiment officer and now travel presenter and explorer Levison Wood will be presenting the appeal on our behalf. His documentary series Walking the Nile and Walking the Himalayas have allowed Levison to visit some of the most remote settlements in the world, meeting communities like the ones we work with and seeing the struggles they face on a daily basis without access to energy. We are having a great time working with Levison and with the Radio 4 Appeal staff finalising details for our broadcast, which Levison will be recording at the BBC next week.

The Radio 4 Appeal is a hugely prestigious broadcast, and last year (2014/15) it raised over £630,000 in appeals for different charities thanks to an audience of some 1.3 million people. The BBC’s decision to grant us the appeal is a fantastic endorsement of our work, which tackles poverty through renewable energy. Our appeal will cover the urgent need for the work we do with renewable energy to build resilience against climate change, stimulate economic improvement and alleviate poverty in the developing world.
We are incredibly excited at the prospect of our message reaching so many people. Keep your eyes peeled for updates and announcements on ways that you can listen, share and support our appeal as our broadcast date draws closer.
Remember to tune in to our BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal on Sunday 24 April at 7:55am and 9:26pm, and again on Thursday 28 April at 3:27pm.
