Ajay Thapa

Ajay joined Renewable World as a Technical coordinator in May 2026. With more than 13 years of experience in renewable energy, he has extensive experience in micro hydro technologies, water mills technologies and solar photovoltaic technologies, including solar mini-grids, solar water pumping systems, rooftop solar technologies.

Throughout his career, he has closely worked with the federal, provincial and local government agencies, development partners, financial institutions, and private actors to support clean energy solutions and improved livelihoods in underserved communities.

Prior to joining Renewable World, Ajay worked with several national and international organizations including NIRAS International Consulting Group, Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), Winrock International, Integration Environment and Energy Gmbh, GIZ Nepal. His professional experience includes project coordination, project planning, feasibility studies, monitoring and evaluation, productive energy use, mentorship and implementation of renewable energy initiatives across multiple provinces of Nepal.

Ajay holds a master’s degree in Renewable Energy Engineering from Tribhuvan University and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Purbanchal University. He combines strong technical knowledge with practical field experience and has delivered numerous trainings on solar technologies, clean cooking solutions and renewable energy financing.
