Subir Karn is a renewable energy and climate finance professional with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy Engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering. His expertise encompasses the design, implementation, and commissioning of diverse renewable energy solutions, including solar mini-grids, solar water pumping systems, and Tier 3+ clean cooking technologies. He has contributed to the preparation of concept notes and funding proposals for low-carbon, climate-resilient energy initiatives such as solar irrigation, micro-hydropower, and energy-efficient industrial projects. In his previous role as a Project Officer at the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre under the GCF Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme, he played a pivotal role in enabling access to climate finance, supporting the development of Nepal’s Green Climate Fund (GCF) project pipeline, and contributing to the country’s NDC 3.0 targets. His work involved close collaboration with national and international stakeholders across the climate and energy sectors.
