As a charity focused on using renewable energy technology to relieve poverty in some of the poorest parts of the world, we value our relationship with the renewable energy sector in the UK and appreciate the support that we get from various companies and organisations.
In December last year, Scottish Renewables, as part of the Scottish Green Energy Awards 2013, held the Grand Raffle Draw in support of Renewable World. With prizes including 5* accommodation in Glasgow and Aberdeen, dining experiences and delicious hampers, the event raised £7918 for Renewable World. We would like to send out a huge thank you to Scottish Renewables and all the attendees at the event that night for supporting Renewable World and believing in the power of renewable energy to change lives.
The Scottish Green Energy Awards 2013 and Renewable World
The Scottish Green Energy Awards was established by Scottish Renewables in December 2002 to bring together industry leaders to honour, acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of individuals and organisations in the renewable energy industry in Scotland.
This year’s event saw a wide search to reach out to those making outstanding progressions within the industry and we asked the public to nominate those who deserved it most.
The success forumula of The Scottish Green Energy Awards comes from the commitment and enthusiasm of our guests who get together every year to enjoy an evening of fun, entertainment, sharing in our joint ambitions and celebrating the success of renewables in Scotland.
The principle of the evening has remained unchanged, shining a spot light on business development, growth commitment, investment, skills and the future of our workforce. The opportunity to acknowledge people and organisations involved in such pioneering projects at the centre of a growing, ambitious industry is what makes the event so worthwhile and a true Scottish celebration.
The Award Categories were first created to represent areas that are essential for the development and growth of our industry and to highlight the positive economic and environmental work and contribution that Scotland is making both nationally and internationally.
