Overview
The Clean Energy for Improved Health III, project in Kenya will run for three years and RW will improve community health through access to reliable and sustainable clean energy technology for 35,000 individuals from the catchment area of 10 health facilities in Kajiado County, Kenya. This will be achieved through equipping 10 facilities with solar powered energy systems, creating awareness of available health services as well training the health workers on electronic medical records system therefore improving access to medical information.
The project will ensure sustainability of the systems installed by training representatives from the county government, the community as well as the health facility personnel on operation and maintenance of the solar powered energy systems as well as advocating for resource allocation by the county government for the maintenance of the solar systems. The project builds on learnings from previous work in Kenya around solarising health centres.
